In this blog, we will explore how to create a collection in Strapi that can be used to build dynamic forms, reducing repetitive code and enhancing usability.</p>
<h3 data-start="367" data-end="822"><strong>1. Understanding Strapi Content Types</strong></h3>
<p><strong>Collections</strong>: Collections allow you to create reusable content structures, such as blog posts, products, and user profiles.</p>
<p><strong>Single Type:</strong> Create one-off pages with unique content structure: homepage, menu, SEO settings.</p>
<p><strong>Fields</strong>: Each content type consists of fields such as text, numbers, and media, which can be configured through the Content-Type Builder.</p>
<p><strong>Reusable Components:</strong> Reusable components in Strapi help share common structures across different content types, making content management more efficient.</p>
<p><strong>Dynamic Zones:</strong> Dynamic Zones allow for the flexible arrangement of content, enabling editors to build custom pages without developer intervention.</p>
<h3><strong>2. Pre-Requisites</strong></h3>
<p>Before starting, ensure that you have Node.js installed on your system.</p>
<h3>3. Strapi Installation</h3>

<h3>4. Creating a Component</h3>
<p data-start="2008" data-end="2112">To create dynamic forms, we first define input components such as text fields, dropdowns, and buttons:</p>
<p>1. Navigate to the <strong data-start="2133" data-end="2147">Components</strong> section and click on <strong data-start="2169" data-end="2191">Create a Component</strong>.</p>
<p>2. Add a <strong data-start="2204" data-end="2218">Text Field</strong> component with a <code data-start="2236" data-end="2242">name</code> attribute for form fields.</p>
<p>3. Similarly, create components for a <strong data-start="2310" data-end="2320">Button</strong> and <strong data-start="2325" data-end="2337">Dropdown</strong>.</p>
<p>4. Ensure proper validation rules, such as restricting button label length.</p>

<p>Click on continue.</p>
<p>Add a text field by ‘name’ for your form field.</p>

<p>Similarly, add additional fields you might need.</p>
<p>Now Create the other two components for the button and dropdown.</p>
<p>Add some points regarding validation, e.g., Button label length restriction.</p>
<h3>5. Create a Collection</h3>
<p>Just like how we created a component, we will now create a collection type with the name for Form-details, which will have some basic details like name and description.</p>
<p data-start="2466" data-end="2510">To store form details, follow these steps:</p>
<p>1. Navigate to <strong data-start="2527" data-end="2547">Collection Types</strong> and create a new type named <strong data-start="2576" data-end="2592">Form Details</strong>.</p>
<p>2. Add fields like <code data-start="2615" data-end="2621">name</code> and <code data-start="2626" data-end="2639">description</code> to capture basic details.</p>
<p>3. Add a <strong data-start="2677" data-end="2693">Dynamic Zone</strong> named <code data-start="2700" data-end="2712">form-group</code> to include the previously created components.</p>
<p>4. Save and confirm the structure.</p>

<p>Select the components text field, button, and dropdown we previously created under form-group.</p>
<p>Finally, this is what our collection should look like:</p>

<h3>6. Adding entries in our Collection</h3>
<p>Go to collection types in the top left section, select Form Details, and then click on ‘Add new form details.’</p>
<p>All the fields we created for our collection should now be available for you to enter. Enter all the details.</p>
<p>&#8211; Go to <strong data-start="2860" data-end="2880">Collection Types</strong> &gt; <strong data-start="2883" data-end="2899">Form Details</strong>.</p>
<p>&#8211; Click on <strong data-start="2915" data-end="2939">Add New Form Details</strong> and fill in the fields.</p>
<p>&#8211; Click <strong data-start="2975" data-end="2986">Publish</strong> to save the data.</p>

<p>Click on ‘Publish.’</p>
<h3>7. Make the created collection available to be fetched via API</h3>
<p>&#8211; Navigate to <strong data-start="3082" data-end="3102">Settings &gt; Roles</strong>.</p>
<p>&#8211; Select the appropriate role and enable <strong data-start="3148" data-end="3156">Find</strong> and <strong data-start="3161" data-end="3172">FindOne</strong> for the collection.</p>
<p>&#8211; Save the changes.</p>
<p>&#8211; Access the API at <code data-start="3239" data-end="3277">http://localhost:1337/form-details/1</code> to view the stored data in JSON format.</p>

<p>In a new tab, go to ‘http://localhost:1337/form-details/1’; you will find your entered details in object format.</p>
